'Impression' is a life size, kinetic pin screen sculpture that inspires creativity and encourages interaction. The sculpture is a minimalist design that is engineered using a fulcrum to pivot the heavy steel screens and allow the pins to be reset in one simple movement. Low relief, 3-D impressions are created by pressing your image or shapes into 28,000 aluminum "pin" heads and 12" rods. Inspired by artist Ward Fleming's 1970 Pin screen toy and the multi-cultural joy of "playing" and creating art. At a very young age we are fascinated by leaving our personal impressions. We stamp colorful hand prints with finger paint, press them into cool plaster tiles and make snow angels.
